Customer Challenge

The costs associated with managing and maintaining on-premises environments is all the solution entails can run exponentially higher than a cloud computing environment. An on-premises setup requires in-house server hardware, software licenses, integration capabilities, and IT employees on hand to support and manage potential issues that may arise. This doesn’t even factor in the amount of maintenance that a company is responsible for when something breaks or doesn’t work.

Partner Solution

The project for licensing downgrade is to drive optimization in costs and right-sizing database licensing per instance. The effort involves migrating production SQL Servers to AWS AMI based instances with same or less-costly version of the SQL Server code. A small number of non-production instances are also in scope to be migrated and moved to developer edition.
